Survey Reveals Fixes for Destiny 2's Engagement Woes
Destiny 2 developers are currently exploring several new features in a closed survey to gauge player interest, aiming to rekindle engagement after the underwhelming launch of Edge of Fate. The survey, sent via an invite-only channel, invites players to rank potential additions that could enhance their gaming experience. Among the options, Bungie is particularly interested in features like Sparrow Racing League, unvaulted campaigns, NPC sidekicks, new PvP and Gambit modes, and more.
The survey's questions highlight a mix of long-standing player requests and fresh ideas. For instance, fans have been eager for new Strand and Stasis abilities, with the "Power Prestiging" option standing out as a potential revival of an old feature that was criticized for its seasonal grind. Bungie is also considering an opt-in reset of the Power system, a move that could come with additional rewards or prestige visuals to address player concerns.
Beyond these, the survey includes options for new subclass abilities, NPC sidekicks, and various PvP and Gambit modes, all of which aim to diversify gameplay and offer more strategic depth. Bungie's approach reflects a strategic pivot to listen to community feedback and introduce features that could rejuvenate player interest and retention.
